GETTING STARTED
Interested in signing up for one of the USG Goes Global programs? Great! To be considered, USG Goes Global must receive the following by the deadline:

🔘 $300 initial program fee payment (not an added fee – applied to program fee as first payment)

🔘 confirmation of home institution approval from Institutional Representative

Please note that students are subject to any institutional requirements for study abroad participation in addition to those of USG Goes Global, which may include additional forms or a separate application for the institution before receiving approval.

Students joining USG Goes Global from any institution outside of the USG Goes Global Consortium will participate as a transient student through the University of West Georgia. No additional applications or fees are required. An overview of this process is available here.

CREATE A PROFILE   🠊

Program acceptance is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. USG Goes Global does not reserve spaces for programs or specific courses. Students who submit a complete application (with home institution approval) after a program is full will be placed on a waitlist. Waitlist order is determined by the timestamp on application deposit payments. Waitlisted students can only be moved to the program if space becomes available, but also have the option to transfer their existing application and deposit to any other USG Goes Global program with open spots. The USG Goes Global Program Manager will communicate waitlist positions and updates with students as they occur.

📢 Early Payment Discount: Students who pay their program fee in full before February 1st will receive a 10% discount! See details in sign-up form.

CANCELLATION POLICY (Updated July 2025)
USG Goes Global reserves the right to alter or cancel programs at any time due to low enrollment or any other appropriate circumstance (including, but not limited to, situations that may endanger the health and/or safety of participants). If USG Goes Global cancels a program after program fee payments have been collected, only the funds that USG Goes Global is able to recover from the third-party service providers can be returned to participants. In the event of course cancellation by USG Goes Global after tuition payments have been made, participants are subject to the tuition refund policy of the institution at which they registered for the courses. USG Goes Global does not have the authority to override an institution’s registration/ payment policies.

All payments made directly to a third-party (such as airfare) are subject to the vendor’s cancellation and refund policies.

Student Refund Schedule:

  • The $300 initial program fee payment is nonrefundable unless the program is canceled by USG Goes Global. Students who withdraw before acceptance or are not accepted may appeal for a refund. Once a student is accepted or the application deadline has passed – whichever occurs first – the initial payment becomes fully nonrefundable.
  • Students withdrawing within 35 days of the final program fee payment deadline will owe 50% of the program fee.
  • Students withdrawing within 10 days of the final program fee payment deadline will owe 100% of the program fee.
  • Students withdrawing after the final program fee payment deadline will owe 100% of the program fee and will not be eligible to appeal.

Late withdrawal penalties are owed in full, regardless of whether any payments were made prior to the decision to withdraw. Payments made before a late withdrawal are not eligible for refund and will be applied toward the penalty amount due to USG Goes Global. Students who believe they have extenuating circumstances for a late withdrawal may submit an appeal for a waiver of the penalty fee to the USG Goes Global Appeals Committee within 14 days of their withdrawal notification.
