Academic Affairs Handbook
Preface
The purpose of this Handbook is to offer procedural information for the purpose of implementing Board policy for chief academic officers of the institutions of the University System of Georgia. The Handbook is organized into four major sections: Organization & Administration, Academic Programs, Student Affairs and Academic Personnel. The Handbook will be updated regularly as Board policy evolves. Any changes to the Handbook will be highlighted for your reference and convenience.
It is the responsibility of the Office of Academic Affairs at each institution to ensure that all appropriate institutional personnel have access to the online Handbook and understand these guidelines. It is our expectation that campus staff will follow these guidelines consistently in carrying out their work. The authoritative source of information concerning Board approved policies, procedures and governing academic matters is The Policy Manual of the Board of Regents. Board policies relevant to this Handbook are found primarily in three sections: 3 - Academic Affairs, 4 - Student Affairs, and 8 - Personnel.
If at any time you have questions regarding any of the information in the Handbook, please contact a member of our staff, and we will be happy to assist you in any way that we can.
