Ethics & Compliance Program

The Board of Regents (Board) of the University System of Georgia (USG) has established a System-level Ethics & Compliance Program (Program). The Program is intended to assist the Board, the Chancellor, and institution management in the discharge of their compliance oversight responsibilities.

The primary functions of the Program are to:

  • Promote the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct within the University System of Georgia and to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies.
  • Coordinate and support USG institutional ethics and compliance functions.
  • Conduct compliance investigations and reviews as needed to discharge an effective compliance program.

The USG Ethics & Compliance Program is part of the Internal Audit, Compliance, Ethics & Risk Management Division, which reports to the Vice Chancellor for Internal Audit, Compliance, Ethics & Risk Management and Chief Audit Officer, and to the Board of Regents Committee on Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance. The authority to manage the Ethics & Compliance Program is specified in our 2026 Compliance Charter as approved by the Board of Regents.
