Governor Deal to Hold Press Conference Announcing Support for Georgians Returning to College

What: Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby and Technical College System of Georgia Commissioner Ron Jackson will hold a press conference to announce the statewide “Go Back. Move Ahead.” campaign, a plan to make it easier for state residents who have not completed their degrees to return to college. “Go Back. Move Ahead.” is part of the state’s Complete College Georgia initiative.

It is projected that by 2020, more than 60 percent of jobs in Georgia will require a certificate or degree. Presently, only 42 percent do, creating a need for an additional 250,000 graduates. “Go Back. Move Ahead.” makes it easier for students to return to Georgia’s public colleges and earn their credentials by offering a simplified enrollment process, personal academic advisers and flexible course schedules, both on campus and online.
