Head of Cadet Command at UNG
Maj. Gen. Jefforey A. Smith, commanding general of U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox, congratulated nine members of the University of North Georgia Corps of Cadets who were recognized as Distinguished Military Students at UNG’s military review, calling them the “very best our nation has to offer.”

The USG has been ranked 9th on this year’s InformationWeek 500 – a list of the top technology innovators in the world. The USG was also listed in their 20 Great Ideas to Steal in 2013 for their work in online learning and working as a system.

Dr. Patrick Erben Wins Dale Brown Book Award
Dr. Erben, a UWG associate professor of English, recently received the Dale Brown Book Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Anabaptist and Pietist Studies. The award honored Erben’s book, “A Harmony of the Spirits: Translation and the Language of Community in Early Pennsylvania.”

Gregory Jackson: At Home in the Chemistry Lab
