Chemical Spill Response

If a spill occurs which is beyond your ability to safely contain and clean up, you should:

  • Clear the work area of all personnel and isolate the spill by closing all doors to the area.
  • Pull the fire alarm if there is:
    • An uncontrolled fire or open flame,
    • An uncontrolled compressed gas release, or
    • Any situation that poses and imminent threat to health and safety
  • Immediately contact the campus Environmental Health and Safety Office and/or Public Safety.
