Data Practices
Key data practices in place by the EDMA team include:
Data Governance Framework
Adherence to established data governance processes enables policies, procedures and standards for quality data management to be established and maintained across multiple systems for reporting.
Data Quality Management
High quality data is required from data collection, transformation through reporting and dashboarding. Problematic data elements are identified, researched, remediated and then reviewed for progress in collaboration with Research & Policy Analysis and the data governance committees.
In cases, where data already collected are problematic, database interventions (dbi) may be done to update or correct the data sets within our environments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
EDMA fosters collaboration between different departments and stakeholders to ensure that data initiatives align with University System of Georgia goals for reporting and dashboarding. Examples of this collaboration include cross-functional teams to conduct data projects, implement new data collections, investigate data lineage concerns and promote data literacy.
