The USGFC meeting will be held in the VSU University Center Cypress room in the University Center located on the southeast corner of Patterson Street and Brookwood Drive (east of Patterson between Brookwood and Ann Street).

Using the main entrance to the University Center, the Cypress room is the first meeting room on your left before getting to the information desk.

Valdosta State has arrangements with two hotels (Hilton Garden Inn on Gornto Road and the Drury Inn on St. Augustine Road), both are located just off I-75 Exit 18 and are convenient to the university.

The JSAC can be located by entering campus at the main entrance off of Walton Way where the fountain is located, then driving around the road to the left of the fountain, past the back of University Hall – the JSAC will be on the right side just beyond University Hall. There is plenty of parking on Saturdays

Fall Meeting of the USGFC, Oct 27th at Georgia State University

The Fall meeting of the USGFC will take place at Georgia State University on Oct. 27th from 9am-5pm

The meeting will be in the General Classroom Building (#12 on the map). The General Classroom Building is on the corner of Decatur Street and Peachtree Center Avenue. Access to the building will be through the doors on the Peachtree Center Avenue side. Once inside, attendees should take the elevator to room 939 on the 9th floor of the building.

Driving Directions

Fall 2012 USGFC Agenda - Tentative

Parking will be free to all attendees provided they enter the parking deck (G-Deck) from the Collins Street entrance. Collins Street is a viaduct that runs under Courtland Street.
Attendees will only need to let the parking attendant know that they are on campus for a campus event.

Chancellor Huckaby and Chief Academic Officer Houston Davis will join us for part of the meeting. Vice Chancellor Linda Noble will likely attend throughout our meeting to help provide a system office perspective to our discussions.

Faculty Council welcomes the new USG Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Houston Davis

Co-Chairs Doug Moodie and Christopher Huff met with the newly appointed USG Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Houston Davis during the summer of 2012 to welcome him to the USG. Dr. Davis is looking forward to working with the Faculty Council in the upcoming years. He even offered assistance in planning the Fall meeting with representatives from the USG.
