Books are published
Two years later
1990
Two popular books are published about the takeover:
Barbarians at the Gate: The Fall of RJR Nabisco
By Burrough, Bryan, and John Helyar.
New York: Harper & Row, 1990. (Made into a TV movie in 1993)
And, another:
True Greed: What Really Happened in the Battle for RJR Nabisco, By Lampert, Hope.
New York: New American Library, 1990.
Since these books focus more on the personalities involved instead of a legal or economic analysis of the takeover, they would be of limited use in academic research.
