Public Safety

The University System of Georgia Office of Public Safety has developed the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) site to offer students, faculty, counselors and law enforcement, referrals for victim assistance and education about crime.

Student Government Association (visit site)

Student Advisory Council officers represent the views of their respective institutions to the University System as well as to their own campus administrations in order to better the college experience for the student population.

Regents Centers for Learning Disorders (RCLD)

The Regents Centers for Learning Disorders (RCLD) provide comprehensive evaluations for students with possible learning disorders who are attending schools within the University System of Georgia. Their mission also includes consultation, research, and training focused on the needs of college students with learning disorders.

Alternative Media Access Center (visit site)

The Alternative Media Access Center (AMAC) is a membership organization committed to removing social and academic barriers to individuals with physical, sensory, and print-related learning disabilities. Students receiving AMAC alternative media services have access to resources as part of their institution’s membership.

Student Health Insurance

All University System of Georgia institutions are required to participate in the Student Health Insurance program. Students in the mandatory categories are required to have insurance that meets the minimum standards. Students who are not covered by a policy held by a parent, spouse, company or organization on the approved waiver list or if the policy does not meet the minimum requirements must purchase one of the USG SHIP policies.

Additional information

Institutions at their choice may require all registered students (graduate and undergraduate) to have health insurance, institutions may also choose to add additional riders to their mandatory plans.
