Freshman Index Requirements

Information for Future Students

In addition to meeting the Required High School Curriculum (RHSC), High School GPA (HSGPA) and SAT/ACT score requirements, students applying to a research, comprehensive, or state university, or select state colleges, must meet a minimum Freshman Index (FI). The FI is calculated using an applicant’s HSGPA and SAT/ACT scores.

SAT administered March 2016 or later
FI = 500 x (HSGPA) + 1.06 x (SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section score + SAT Math section score) - 74

SAT administered prior to March 2016
500 x (HSGPA) + old SAT Critical Reading section score + old SAT Math section score

ACT
500 x (HSGPA) + (ACT Composite x 42) + 88
