Media Advisory: Regents to Meet Feb. 16 to Appoint New KSU President

Atlanta — February 13, 2006

WHO: The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and Chancellor Erroll B. Davis Jr.

WHAT: A Special Called Meeting of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia will be conducted via conference call to select the next president of Kennesaw State University.

The meeting will be conducted in Executive Session, with the board’s action reported out at the end of that closed session.

WHEN: 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006

WHERE: The meeting will be conducted via conference call.

WHY: Kennesaw State University President Betty L. Siegel, the second president in the university’s 43-year history, is retiring after almost 25 years in office.

Since July 2005, the Board of Regents has conducted a national search to fill the position Siegel is vacating.

Finalists for the presidential post were announced on Feb. 2, 2006.

The new president will be selected from that list of finalists.
