Karen Livingston - Customer Support Lead, USG Shared Services Center
In May 2009 Karen Livingston joined the University of Georgia Shared Services Center (USG SSC) as one of the first six employees. She taps into her 20 years of customer service experience to ensure the 28 institutions served by the USG Shared Services Center receive the best service possible. Karen and her team provide services for employees, retirees and institution HR, Payroll and Benefits practitioners for the ADP supported institutions.
She is honored to participate in the inaugural USO Leading for Success-Foundations program and is excited to continue developing as a leader within the University System.
Karen recently received certification from the Helpdesk Institute as a HDI Certified Support Center Analyst. She holds an associate’s degree from Macon State College in Business Communications and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Office and Administrative Technology at Valdosta State University.
Kim Gore - HR Analyst I, USG Shared Services Center
Kim Gore has over 11 years of experience serving in various human resource roles for the University System of Georgia and state government. She has worked with the USG for over 5 years, currently serving as HR Analyst for the USG Shared Services Center. As HR Analyst, she responds to over 70 new practitioner requests monthly for support and assistance with HRMS issues and training, and with policy interpretation and application. In addition, she partners with USO management and staff in establishing and improving HR processes, and serves on many USG project teams including most recently the campus consolidation initiative. Prior to joining the SSC, she served as Human Resources Employment Specialist at Georgia College. Her responsibilities included onboarding for new and rehired employees, HRMS system training for new HR staff and new hire orientation. While serving at Georgia College, she was elected Staff Council Representative where she voiced staff recommendations and concerns, and promoted open communication while endorsing and adhering to the mission and goals of the campus.
Kim received her AS degree in Business Administration from Georgia Military College where she graduated summa cum laude. While studying at GMC, she received several honors including induction in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges, and the All-Georgia Academic Team. She also received academic excellence awards in Business and Accounting.
Kim is honored and excited to be a part of the Leading for Success - Foundations program. She looks forward to growing as a leader and to continuing to serve the USG colleges and universities, the University System Office and the USG Shared Services Center.
Courtney McGough - Lead Library Consultation Analyst, GALILEO
Courtney began working with GALILEO Support Services in January of 2007. She is part of a team that manages access to research resources for all citizens of the state of Georgia. Courtney also collaborates with individual libraries to customize the GALILEO experience for the needs of their communities. She also designs and conducts training in the use of GALILEO resources for library staff.
Courtney received a Master of Science in Information Sciences through the distance learning program at The University of Tennessee in May of 2007. Before coming to GALILEO, she worked in the library of Oxford College of Emory University. Prior to choosing librarianship as a career, Courtney received an M.Ed./Ed.S. in School Psychology from Georgia State University and served as a school psychologist in the Rockdale County Public Schools system.
Ann Dinkheller - Payroll Manager, USG Shared Services Center
Ann has been with the University System of Georgia (USG) Shared Services Center (SSC) since implementation in 2009 and brings many years of payroll management experience to the team. Under Ann’s leadership, her team is responsible for payroll processing for over 66,000 employees in the University System including management of tax and garnishment services and administration of the time and attendance system. Ann and her payroll team provide the support necessary to manage and implement the USG’s vision for improved payroll services and promote a responsive, service-oriented team operation.
Ann worked for Club Car, Inc. as their payroll manager for 20 years prior to joining the Shared Services Center. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Brenau University. Ann is anxious to implement skills and knowledge gained through the Leading for Success program.
Dorothy Young - Benefits Manager, USG Shared Services Center
Dorothy Young joined Shared Services in 2009 as an analyst and later team lead for the Benefits department. Previously, she worked as technical assistant in quality assurance at Thiele Kaolin Company and taught science at Brentwood School and Washington County High School.
Dorothy earned an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Georgia College & State University.
Darin Givens - Webmaster, Georgia Public Library Service
Darin has been with GPLS since 2006, managing the organization’s web sites and social media and also providing free web hosting services for public libraries statewide. He regularly gives training to Georgia library staff on web technology such as content management systems.
As a member of the Communications department, he helps to keep Georgia library professionals and users informed about GPLS initiatives and partnerships as well as library news and trends. Internally, he provides support to other GPLS staffers with their web communications needs.
Prior to working with GPLS, Darin was the Webmaster for Mercer University Atlanta’s library. He has also been a freelance writer, published in Atlanta Magazine, and was a staff writer for the Marietta Daily Journal. He is a graduate of Kennesaw State University (BA, English).
Dwight Baker - Senior Manager for Human Resources, University System Office
In preparation for the transition and ongoing management of Human Resources, Dwight L. Baker was hired as Senior HR Manager for the University System Office effective November 1, 2012. Dwight’s immediate responsibility will be the successful transition of HR from Kennesaw State University, the migration, implementation and maintenance of all HR systems (HireTouch, ADP, Nolij), programs and procedures, as well as managed and coordinated organizational initiatives that impacted personnel and human resources issues that involved other locations (Georgia State Archives, Shared Services Center, GPLS, ITS and USO). Ongoing, Dwight is responsible for supervision of the HR function and employees, recruitment and staffing, employee relations and other HR activities.
Dwight’s entire career has been in the field of Human Resources, including most recent service as the Director of Human Resources & Risk Management for Bibb County Government, Director of Human Resources & Risk Management for the City of College Park, Director of Human Resources for the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia, Associate Director of Human Resources at the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Director of Human Resources at Atlanta Technical College. Dwight has a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Capella University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Morris Brown College. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree, specializing in Human Resources at Capella University, School of Business & Technology.
Dwight’s professional affiliations include Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR), and College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). He holds the IPMA-CP human resources professional designation.
Andrea Mitchell - Senior Human Resources Generalist, University System Office
Andrea Mitchell joined the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia in February 2013. Prior to joining the Human Resources Department with Board of Regents, she served faculty and staff for 4 years collectively at Emory Healthcare and Emory University.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Georgia Southern University and a Masters in Human Resource Management from the University of Phoenix. She is will continue her education in 2014 at Capella University where he will work towards obtaining a Master of Science in Education – Training and Performance Improvement.
Alex H. Lehocky, MS, CIH - Program Manager II Real Estate & Facilities, USG
Alex joined the Board of Regents’ Office of Real Estate & Facilities in 2008, and serves as Program Manager for Environmental Health & Safety within the Compliance and Operations Group. He provides leadership to all of the University System of Georgia institutions on environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and due diligence issues.
Alex has over eighteen years of progressive technical and management experience in industry, higher education, and consulting. Experiences include exposure assessment, risk assessment, indoor air quality, development of hazardous chemical SOPs, auditing, training, and project management.
Alex has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Health from the University of Georgia and maintains the designation of a Certified Industrial Hygienist. In addition, he is actively involved with a variety of local and national professional groups.
Ted Beck - Audit Manager for Special Projects, Office of Internal Audit and Compliance
Prior to coming to the Office of Internal Audit and Compliance, Ted previously served as the Senior Auditor for Data Analytics, and prior to that was a deputy division director with the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget.
He is a proud alumnus of the USG, and holds a Master’s of Public Administration from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s of Journalism from the University of Georgia. He is currently enrolled in the Educational Policy Studies doctoral program at GSU. He and his wife Stephanie recently welcomed their first child, Simon.
Selwyn May - HRIS Manager and Interim Information Technology Manager, USG Shared Services Center
Selwyn May has been with the University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) since 2010. Selwyn and her team are responsible for providing functional support and solutions for the USG’s HR information systems and technical support for the SSC.
She brings over 25 years of experience serving in various Information Technology roles in industry and education. Prior to joining SSC, she worked at Oconee Fall Line Technical College (previously Sandersville Technical College). Selwyn received her Masters of Information Systems from Georgia College and State University, and her BBA in Management from Georgia College as well. Selwyn has attained multiple Information Technology industry certifications from Microsoft, Novell and Cisco.
