Health Savings Account
If you’re enrolled in the Consumer Choice HSA plan, you may be eligible to have a Health Savings Account (HSA).
Contributions to an Optum HSA for eligible medical, prescription drug, dental and vision expenses are tax-free, allowing you to save money on your federal and state income taxes and Social Security taxes. Unlike an FSA, money left in your HSA rolls over from year to year. Generally, you are eligible to enroll in the USG HSA if you are not enrolled in any other medical coverage (including Medicare) other than the Consumer Choice HSA plan.
When you contribute to your HSA, USG will match you dollar-for-dollar, until your contributions reach $375 for an individual or $750 for a family. In 2020, you can contribute a total of up to $3,550 for an individual or $7,100 for a family (including USG’s contribution). And the HSA is always yours, even if you leave USG!
