Release of Georgia Enhancements 8.68 and 9.18

PURPOSE

Georgia Enhancements 8.68 and 9.18 are paired releases and must be installed together.

Georgia Enhancements 8.68 includes the 8.x components needed for the new Course Attribute Dashboard. Georgia Enhancements 9.18 must be installed before installing 8.68.

The Georgia Enhancements 9.18 release includes the following enhancements and defect corrections:

  • Intermediate Table for Ingress (INGRESS Log Table) (ZSRSMGL) - Enhancement to have ZSRIARR and ZSRSMGL performed at the same time to result in better quality output for users
  • Non Banner Finance Data Load (ZGRPSLD) - Enhancements to capitalize title header characters, updated hint text to Banner 9x date format and moved control report information to the lis file output
  • Legislative Requirements Update Process (ZORLHCR) - Defect correction for ZORLHCR ending a hold before it has started
  • Applicant Referral Process (ZORAPRF) - Enhancement to filter out denied applicants in the output files that have not provided consent with sharing their information for referral. This filter will be controlled by a rule placed within the Crosswalk Validation page (GTVSDAX).
  • D2L Extract Process (ZSRD2LC) - Defect correction for when two records in the SOBCURR table that have the same Program Code and College Code associated with two different Terms. Data should be pulled data based on the record with the max (SOBCURR_TERM_CODE_INIT) value
  • Course Attribute Dashboard - The new Course Attribute Dashboard provides faculty, registrars, and other staff responsible for maintaining course section data the ability to request attribute changes through Banner Self-Service. Administrative setup allows grouping of attribute codes for processing, assigning dashboard user roles, and tailoring user specific course access. Approval functionality and email notifications are also features of the dashboard.

PREREQUISITES

The only prerequisite for Georgia Enhancements 8.68 is Georgia Enhancements 9.18. Georgia Enhancements 9.18 must be installed prior to installing 8.68.

The prerequisites for the Georgia Enhancements 9.18 release are:

  • Admin Common 9.3.19
    • Student 9.3.17
  • Georgia Enhancements 9.13

CERTIFICATION

This release has been certified on the following:

  • Admin Common 9.3.24
    • Accounts Receivable 9.3.18
    • Financial Aid 9.3.25
    • General 9.3.19
    • Student 9.3.23
  • Georgia Enhancements 8.67 and 9.17

ITS and eleven institutions have tested and certified this release for the prerequisites at Oracle 12.2 and 19c on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.x.

Non hosted Institutions are strongly encouraged to apply this software to your test environment before applying it to production. Institutions should comprehensively test using local business processes to ensure that the functionality meets regulatory requirements.

The release of Georgia Enhancements 9.18 and accompanying documentation are available through the Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM) 1.18 (Consortium version) using the ESM GeorgiaBEST repository URL. The release is located in the ESM console under “General” as “9.18Z”.

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS: Instructions and a complete list of all Georgia Enhancements 9.18 deliverables are included in the Technical Release Notes within Ellucian Solution Manager (ESM).

IMPORTANT NOTE: The 9.18 release is a cumulative update to the previous Georgia Enhancements 9.x releases. SOURCE CODE LOCATION AND DOCUMENTATION: The source code for Banner 9 releases is located on the USG GitLab repository.

The USG GitLab repository is password protected and authenticates through single sign-on. This resource will only be accessible while connected to your campus network or VPN service. Each individual project under the USG_Banner_9 group will have the needed SSH or HTTPS link to download the source code.

Technical staff at your institution who currently have access to files.usg.edu have access to the USG GitLab, using their single sign-on credentials.
