GIL Users Group Meeting 2006

2006 GIL Users Group Meeting
Thursday, May 18, 2006
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Macon State College

Dear Colleague:

We invite you to attend the 6th annual GIL Users Group Meeting, on Thursday, May 18, 2006. Among the day's starting activities will be an opportunity to tour the newly renovated Macon State College Library, a direct reflection of this year's meeting theme, "Sharing Resources, Knowledge, and Practice."

Macon State College Library Tours

Library + Academic Resource Center + $5 million = A new building with a different way of doing things. Stop by the information desk for a brief tour.

The Macon State College Library tours will be offered at 9:00, 9:15, and 9:30 coinciding with the GUGM registration period. There will be one other opportunity at the end of the day at 4:20.

The Opening Session details are still being worked out and the names of invited guest speakers should be announced shortly.

In keeping with tradition, GUGM continues as a forum for Endeavor staff to update and appraise the GIL community about the Voyager software and for us to continue to share best practices and learn from each other in software utilization and in serving library users. In essence, GUGM's program success, popularity and strength reside in the meeting being one we make and do for ourselves. Scanning the session abstracts, you will see the names of returning knowledgeable colleagues and become acquainted with new individuals who are for the first time sharing their expertise and talent.

GUGM 2006 is open to all USG library staff and to other Georgia Endeavor customers. Please consider registering by April 15 to ensure adequate seating space in all meeting rooms. Registration will close at 230 attendees, so don't delay.

We look forward to seeing you for this exciting day in Macon!
