Jim Berger, CTL director at GCSU

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Jim Berger as the new Director of Georgia College and State University’s (GCSU) Center for Teaching and Learning.

Dr. Berger, a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Adult Education program, comes to GCSU after eighteen years as a professor at Western Kentucky University, where he served in a number of academic and administrative roles during his tenure, including Coordinator of Blackboard Outcomes, Acting Associate Dean of Graduate Studies & Research, and Provost Fellow.

I look forward to working with the faculty, staff, and students at GCSU and continuing the extraordinary work the institution has done. The center is looking towards filling a couple of vital roles that work directly with faculty and staff and continuing to grow the programs and services we offer. We are hoping to expand our outreach to the faculty and staff and involve members of the community in process.

Dr. Berger has faculty status in the Lounsbury College of Education, is the current chair of PODNetwork’s Membership Committee, and regularly reviews manuscripts for six national and international journals focusing on research in adult learning, technology, faculty development, and transformative education.
