University System of Georgia Strategic Plan
Strategic Goal Three:
Increase the System’s participation in research and economic development to the benefit of a global Georgia. Enhance and encourage the creation of new knowledge and basic research across all disciplines.
Challenge
The USG will provide academic programming in anticipation of the state’s economic development needs.
Action
The USG will engage faculty, students, and staff on the issue of the relationship between education and state needs.
Activities for Implementation
Hold a forum on each campus to communicate this aspect of the Strategic Plan and seek input on how to balance academic and economic development goals
