Action
Develop a more intentional approach to recruiting, developing, and rewarding
faculty for excellence in teaching.
Activities for Implementation
- Develop BOR policies that reward student advising, experiential
learning, mentoring, instructional innovation, scholarship of teaching
and learning, scholarship of engagement, and collaborative institutional
planning to improve student learning
- Create Regents’ Distinguished Faculty title in recognition
of outstanding undergraduate instruction
- Provide System-level professional development opportunities in the
area of teaching
- Continue providing awards each year for Excellence in Teaching;
expand number of awards as funding allows
