Action
Develop a more intentional approach to recruiting, developing, and rewarding
faculty for excellence in teaching.
Activities for Implementation
- Develop BOR policies that reward student advising, experiential learning,
mentoring, instructional innovation, scholarship of teaching and learning,
scholarship of engagement, and collaborative institutional planning to
improve student learning.
- Create Regents’ Distinguished Faculty title in recognition of outstanding
undergraduate instruction.
- Provide System-level professional development opportunities in the area
of teaching.
- Continue providing awards each year for excellence in teaching; expand
number of awards as funding allows.

Little System-wide activity specifically focused on providing incentives for excellence in teaching, providing professional development opportunities related to teaching, and/or providing rewards for excellence in teaching.
