University System of Georgia Strategic Plan

Strategic Goal Four:
Strengthen the USG’s partnerships with the state’s other education agencies.

Challenge

More Georgians need postsecondary education. Only 27% of Georgians aged 25 years or older have a bachelor’s degree or higher. The changing Georgia job market is increasingly demanding at least some postsecondary education. Jobs that do not require postsecondary education are steadily decreasing.

Action

Increase postsecondary enrollment through Accelerated Learning Opportunities, USG intervention: Increase secondary students’ participation in USG’s recognized Accelerated Learning Options (AP, IB, and Dual Enrollment) to jumpstart their enrollment in college.
