Complete College Georgia

Our most important initiative to help more Georgians further their education is Complete College Georgia. A major part of this effort is the “Go Back. Move Ahead.” campaign. “Go Back. Move Ahead.” is designed to help the more than one million Georgians who have completed some college to return and finish their degrees.

Students to Study in China

Two University of North Georgia students each have received a $10,000 Chinese Government Scholarship to study in China for a year. The scholarship, awarded by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, is given to only 10 students nationally.

Lens Crafted

Birthe C. Reimers, a Ph.D. student in International Conflict Management Kennesaw State, designed a photo project as a way to allow residents to “voice” their perspectives through imagery and share concerns about Clarkston, a small town of nearly 8,000 residents 10 miles east of downtown Atlanta that has undergone a stark transformation in a little over three decades.

Serving Our Communities

Valdosta State University’s Dr. J. Myron Faircloth, assistant professor of nursing, recently established a primary health care practice in a small, rural, one-stoplight town. His mission is to bring back the days when health-related decisions were made by a patient and his or her health care provider.

Adrienne Kambouris is USG’s Second Tillman Military Scholar

The U.S. Army Veteran and Georgia Regents University student has been named a 2014 Tillman Military Scholar. Kambouris is one of 58 selected from over 7,500 applicants and the second student in the University System of Georgia to receive the prestigious award.
