UGA Marine Scientists

University of Georgia marine scientist Samantha Joye and UGA colleagues Patricia Medeiros and Christof Meile received a $1.3 million grant from the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative that will enable UGA researchers and scientists from 13 other institutions to study the impact of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill on the marine ecosystem.

Skidaway Institute Scientist Published in Nature Geoscience

Aron Stubbins’ work was featured in a recent edition of the scientific journal Nature Geoscience. Stubbins co-authored research presenting new evidence that burning fossil fuels affects remote glacial ecosystems and provides clues about how those ecosystems have been influenced by the industrial revolution.
