The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia would like to thank Augusta State University for hosting the 25th Anniversary Science Olympiad National Tournament. This year marks the second time a USG university has hosted the National Science Olympiad. Georgia is the only state to host the event twice. The first time was in 1996 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Science Olympiad teams will compete in events focused on chemistry, biology and physics, engineering, robotics and astronomy during the event on the Augusta State campus May 14-17, 2009.

Dr. Lisa A. Rossbacher
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia would like to congratulate Southern Polytechnic State University president, Dr. Lisa A. Rossbacher, on her selection as Chair of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce for 2009. She plans to focus on environmental sustainability as a common thread for businesses in Cobb County.
