COMMENTS/EXAMPLES: The quarter system consisted of four terms: Summer (1), Fall (2), Winter (3), and Spring (4). Under the semester system, the standard terms are Summer, Fall and Spring. Under semesters, terms that are shorter than 15 weeks should be reported in the standard term during which they begin. If a course begins before the CIR census date in a given term, it is reported in the Census 1 report for that term, with Element C320 reported as code 1. If a course begins within a standard term but after the CIR Census 1 date, it is reported in the Census 2 report for that term, and Element C320 is coded 2. If a course's begin date falls between standard terms, submit a record on the course coded for the Census 1 report in the next standard term, but record the actual term starting date in element C190. NOTE: All course activity, regardless of the term in which it occurs, will be counted in the CIR. |
