What is SIRS?
The University System of Georgia Board of Regents collects data on students once a term. Student Information Reporting System (SIRS) data are collected for students currently enrolled and for all students who graduate. Certain data elements are collected for students who enrolled the previous term, but are not enrolled this term.
SIRS data are used for making decisions about policies, program, and services to meet the needs of the University System. SIRS data are the basis for many University System reports, including the Semester Enrollment Report, retention and graduation reporting, transfer reporting, IPEDS degrees conferred and enrollment reports, and high school feedback. The Board of Regents also uses SIRS data to analyze enrollment patterns over time, as well as admissions qualifications, academic progression, and student success.
SIRS is administered by the Office of Strategic Research and Analysis in the Division of Academic Affairs and is maintained by that office and Enterprise Applications Systems, a unit the Office of Information and Instructional Technology, also of this division.
