Georgia College & State University Naming Guidelines
Guidelines Regarding the Naming of Facilities and Outdoor Areas
The naming of a facility, area or room on the Georgia College & State University campus is one of the ultimate ways of recognizing our most generous alumni and friends.
Significant gifts to Georgia College & State University provide an ideal opportunity to link a donor with the traditions and future of GC&SU through either the establishment of a named endowment fund or a gift to support capital needs. GC&SU offers several kinds of named gift opportunities, with minimum amounts described below:
| Capital Construction – New Facilities | 25% of estimated cost |
| Naming of Existing Building | $1,000,000 and above |
| Support for Facilities Renovations | 25% of estimated cost |
| Auditorium and Areas within Buildings | $100,000 and above |
| Classrooms | $50,000 and above |
| Outside areas | $25,000 and above |
The Board of Regents must approve the proposed name of all buildings and outdoor areas-that may not have physical walls but are nonetheless identifiable areas of campus landscape, such as quadrangles, gardens, lakes, recreation fields, etc. The Board of Regents delegates authority to the institution presidents to name interior spaces.
