13th Annual Facilities Officers Conference
We are please to announce that the 13th Annual Facilities Officers Conference will return to the Hyatt Regency Savannah, conveniently located in historic downtown Savannah. The dates of this year's FOC Conference is September 29th - October 1st, 2008. This year we will also offer an exciting opportunity to lend a "helping hand" to an endangered historic building and at the same time visit one of Georgia's most scenic and pristine barrier islands - Sapelo Island.
The FOC is open to all facility professionals, business officers, and other staff throughout the University System of Georgia with an interest in facilities-related issues. Between 180 and 200 persons attend the conference each year.
This year's conference will be rather unique, in that you will have the opportunity to participate in an all-day field session--"Project Sapelo" on the first day of the conference--Monday, September, 29th. Space is limited. Please see Project Sapelo--A Preservation Partnership for general information and registration. You will need seperately for Project Sapelo. For those of you not participating in the all-day Project Sapelo Field Session, the General FOC Conference will kick-off on Monday, September 29th at 1:30pm with our always popular and informative Break-Out Sessions. The conference will continue with General Sessions, more Break-out Sessions, and Tours on Tuesday. The conference will conclude at 12:00pm noon on Wednesday. The special highlight of this year's Savannah Facilities Officer's Conference will be our Georgia Queen Welcome Dinner Cruise event on Tuesday Evening, September, 30th. As usual, this event is included as part of the registration for all USG registrants, but is also the one event open to professional consultants. This event provides an opportunity for all to network in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.
Also new this year--Spouses of USG registrants will be offered several options: the opportunity to register for the General Conference ($100 Fee includes Tuesday's Breakfast, Tuesday's Lunch, and Wednesday's Breakfast) as well as the Welcome Dinner Cruise ($60 Fee includes the Dinner Cruise Only).
