2005 Session Down to Final Days

The General Assembly was in session on Mon. and Tues., March 21 and 22, with Tues. marking the 36th day. That means the 2005 Legislative Session is winding down. Georgia's legislators will be in recess on Wed., March 23, and will reconvene on Thurs., March 24, with just four days left on this year's legislative calendar.

FY06 Budget In Conference

With versions of Gov. Sonny Perdue's FY06 Budget Recommendations having been adopted by both the Georgia House and Senate, the final budget document now is in the hands of the Conference Committee. This body is working to resolve differences in the two versions of the budget. Their version will be brought back to the House and Senate for final approval and, ultimately, the Gov.'s signature.
