Diamond Jubilee Celebration - Speeches
Chairman Alan Vigil
Thank you. For 75 years, Georgians have worked to create a great system of public higher education. And we celebrate this creation today.
On behalf of the Board of Regents, I thank all those present and all those who in the past have contributed to this effort. Your efforts have helped to transform this state. Your efforts have helped individuals such as Chenelle Marshall and hundreds of thousands of other students create a brighter, better future for themselves and their families.
As the chair of the Board of Regents, I pledge our commitment to the state and our students to continue to strengthen our 35 institutions. We will protect the investment that has been made. We will continue to provide access to and excellence in our mission of teaching, research and service.
Thank you.
