PeachNet Video Conferencing Service
The University System of Georgia’s (USG) Information Technology Services is pleased to announce the PeachNet Video Conferencing Service (PVCS). PVCS is a comprehensive, stand-alone platform that provides H.323 bridging, Web-based desktop video bridging, video streaming and recording functionalities. The service also provides for both unscheduled and scheduled conferencing via an integrated Web event wizard. PVCS provides inter-operability between most major video conferencing endpoints and PC/Mac users with a Web browser and a webcam.

Desktop Facts
PVCS supports desktop video conferencing. This Web-based service for desktops offers the same features and options that are available to the video endpoints. All that is required for PC/Mac users is a Web browser, Java client and a webcam. The Web-based desktop video traffic traverses a single port via using standard Web port 80 or SSL port 443 network ports.

Pricing
Monthly subscription to PVCS is provided via a port utilization basis. Customers must purchase sufficient ports to cover the maximum number of concurrent interactive video conferencing participants at any given time. This includes desktop and laptop interactive video participants. Ports are not required for users participating via the live streaming option. PVCS is offered in blocks of four ports with the ability to purchase additional single ports if desired.
In addition to the monthly subscription, PVCS allows for an ad-hoc (non-subscription) service which is provided on a resource availability basis. Monthly subscription users may take advantage of this offering when a special event requires additional ports above their current subscription.
