Collaborative Induction of Beginning Teachers through GSTEP

The initiative, with leadership from the National Commission on Teaching and America's Future, builds on the Regents' requirement that USG educator preparation institutions provide support for their graduates during their first two years in the classroom. The project will use the Georgia Framework for Teaching, newly adopted by the State Board, to unify the expectations and support for new teachers provided by schools and teacher preparation institutions. Through the Georgia Committee on Quality Teaching, the Georgia Department of Education, Professional Standards Commission, and the University System of Georgia have agreed to work toward adoption of this Framework for teacher preparation, licensure, induction, and continued professional learning.

Partners

This is a collaborative project between the National Commission on Teaching and America's Future, Georgia State University, four partner urban school districts, and the P-16 Department of the University System of Georgia.
