Levels of the Decision-making Process

Functional Team

The Functional Team is made up of business analysts, developers, training professionals, and communications professionals who are responsible for the first level of document preparation for possible decisions to be made. Once a decision is made, the functional team provides development and configuration as well as communication and training in support of the decision.

OneUSG Connect Leadership

OneUSG Connect Leadership is comprised of leaders from Information Technology Services (ITS), University System Office (USO), the Shared Services Center (SSC), and project consultants. This group is responsible for reviewing documents produced by the Functional Team and escalating the document to either form a decision or escalate to the System Office Leadership.

System Office Leadership

If a decision is escalated to the System Office Leadership, this group will review to either determine a decision or decide if input is needed from either or both steering committees. This group is comprised of vice chancellors and assistant vice chancellors over the impacted areas: technology, human resources and financials.

HCM Steering Committee

The HCM Steering Committee provides strategic direction for the human resources pieces of the initiative. If it is determined by System Office Leadership that a decision needs input from the steering committee the group reviews documents and provides recommendations.

Financials Steering Committee

The Financials Steering Committee provides strategic direction for the finances pieces of the initiative. If it is determined by System Office Leadership that a decision needs input from the steering committee the group reviews documents and provides recommendations.

Executive Council

The Executive Council is the advisory group of the OneUSG Connect decision-making process. This group is comprised of senior leadership from the USO and institutions. They are most concerned with impactful decisions made during the process. OneUSG Connect Leadership presents monthly to the Executive Council on project progress.
