Office of the Vice Chancellor for IIT/CIO
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for IIT/CIO concentrates on policy development, strategic planning, and related support for effective and efficient operations and delivery of services for the Office of Information and Instructional Technology (OIIT), the USO, the USG, the Board of Regents, and the Georgia Public Library System.
Office of Information and Instructional Technology
OIIT is organized into two divisions—Operations and Services—that work together to sustain a secure, robust technical infrastructure, online instructional services, teaching and learning resources, and the enterprise-wide administrative systems required to support the USG’s academic environment.
Operations are sometimes defined as the “hard” side of technology, and Services as the “soft” side. The major role of Operations is to execute and deliver products to customers; one of the major roles of Services is to negotiate and manage expectations, priorities, and customer relations. Operations and Services must work cooperatively to deliver and support technology products and services that align with USG customer needs and expectations.
