About

Integration and Deployment Support provides technical administration, change control, and comprehensive Oracle and technical support for deployment and integration of the enterprise instructional, administrative, business services, and user productivity systems that serve the needs of USG students, faculty, and staff. The Integration and Deployment team manages the USG Data Warehouse and provides support to USG campuses and the System Office for enterprise data definition and access to enterprise reporting data. The Integration and Deployment Team is the technical liaison among the Infrastructure Support team, other teams within ITS, and external service providers.

Functions

Examples of Integration and Deployment’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Technical support and assistance for the enterprise systems deployed at USG campuses or hosted centrally
  • Production support for USG Data Warehouse users’ reporting and data access needs
  • Change control to support the application development lifecycle for ongoing USO and campus operations
  • Installation and configuration of database software and administration tools
  • Database administration and security
  • Installation, configuration and management of integration services between the enterprise systems
  • Workshops that assist the USG campuses with installation and configuration of enterprise system upgrades and IT audit compliance
  • Development and configuration of Oracle products standard desktop installations

Integration and Deployment Support is responsible for the installation, configuration and administration of the technical environments for the following services in production throughout the USG, whether the services are hosted by ITS or an outside vendor, deployed internally to support user productivity, or managed by USG institutions individually.

  • GeorgiaBEST (Georgia Banner Enhanced Student Team) uses baseline modules and System-wide enhancements to Banner, the student and financial aid information system that handles data about admissions, registration, fee payment, transfers, financial aid and HOPE, accounts receivable, transcripts, housing, and other functions.   • GeorgiaFIRST (Georgia Financial, Information and Reporting Systems for Tomorrow) uses the PeopleSoft Financial Management System, model software for accounting, purchasing, payments to vendors, and capital asset management. For more information, see the GeorgiaFIRST web site.

  • GeorgiaFIRST uses the PeopleSoft Human Resource Management solution to handle and track employee data such as faculty and staff information, payroll, and benefits. For more information, see the GeorgiaFIRST web site.

  • The Georgia ONmyLINE registration system is the gateway to distance education offerings from all of the colleges and universities in the USG.

  • GeorgiaVIEW (Vista Implementation Enterprise-Wide) Vista uses the Blackboard Learning System-Vista (BbLS-V) Enterprise License as the USG’s learning management system for both web-based and face-to-face courses. For more information, see the GeorgiaVIEW web site.

  • The Helpdesk (Remedy ITSM) provides centralized support and serves as a 24 X 7 single point of contact to USG institutions and GALILEO customers for enterprise products and services, using a three-tier help desk strategy and support model to enhance customer experience. The Helpdesk also supports USO and OIIT customers.

  • The Student System Consolidation project consolidates the Banner technical environment into one secure, reliable, central location to host selected USG institutions by centralizing database administration and system support functions.   • The USG Data Warehouse is the data repository and enterprise reporting system that provides information essential for campuses and the USG for policy decisions and accountability using the following data marts: Academic, Pre-school through College (P-16), Educator Preparation, Financials, and Human Resources/Faculty.   • Reports for Board of Regents’ units, State agencies, and the Legislature provide information essential for making decisions. Examples include reports on student enrollment trends, supply and demand for Georgia’s work force, financial aid patterns, Georgia Student Finance Commission requests, and others.

Integration and Deployment Support provides services vital for all technology initiatives and enterprise applications for instruction, administration, and reporting to work together seamlessly.
