State & Federal Aid and Study Abroad
University System of Georgia students who are eligible to receive federal financial aid and/or the HOPE Scholarship may use their financial aid for study abroad as long the student's home institution has approved the courses taken abroad for credit.
A student's federal financial aid or HOPE scholarship may apply to a study abroad program approved by the student's home instiution regardless of the study abroad program's origin (institutional, system, or external to Georgia).
Students can also receive financial support for their study abroad program through the Regents' STARS program and Regents' On-Line Language Scholarships. Funding may also be available through national scholarships, program or country specific scholarships or through foundations that offer targeted study abroad grants and scholarships. Scholarships may also be available through USG institutions. For further information about institutional scholarships contact your Campus Study Abroad Office.
