Richard C. Sutton,
Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Programs and Senior Advisor for Academic Affairs
held academic affairs positions with the Iowa Board of Regents and the University of Wisconsin System Administration prior to joining the University System of Georgia in 1998. He was director of international education at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from 1984 to 1995, where he also was a faculty member in foreign languages and international studies. A Russian historian by training, he earned his Ph.D. from Indiana University and his A.B. from Duke University.
Sue Watson, Assistant Director for International Programs
joined the OIE in July 2001. She earned a B.A. degree in Spanish with a concentration in Latin American Studies from Washington and Lee University and attained a graduate certificate in Spanish language translation with a specialization in legal translation from Georgia State University. She taught Spanish at the secondary level for several years and has led student study abroad programs to Spain. Prior to joining the OIE she was the Regional Director for ASSE, one of the largest international student exchange programs for high-school students.
Susan Pratt, Assistant Director for International Education has worked extensively in the international education/study abroad field at Schiller University (Germany), Tulane University, and (most recently) the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She has also worked for the Florida Division of Community Colleges and the Florida state legislature. She is a former Fulbright scholar with a B.A. in history from Connecticut College and an M.S. in international development education from Florida State University.
ReLiang Tsang, Assistant Director for International Assessment brings a background in arts education and non-profit organizations, as well as several overseas postings. She has a B.A. in studio arts from the University of California-Santa Cruz and an M.A. in museum studies from San Francisco State University. She has worked for the Gerbode (CA) Foundation, the Atlanta College of Art, and (most recently) the Georgia Council for the Arts. She is also a former Fulbright scholar, has taught on the JET program, and did an academic year abroad at Lancaster University (U.K.)
Carrie Sloan, Assistant to the Director has rejoined the OIE after finishing her Fulbright Binational Business Grant in Mexico and spending some time in Argentina. Carrie received a B.S. in Biology from Davidson College, followed by a year of working with monkeys in Argentina. Before joining the OIE, Carrie worked for several years with bonobos, studying their language and culture at Georgia State University's Language Research Center. She studied abroad in Australia and has traveled throughout New Zealand and much of Latin America. She is currently pursuing an MBA from Georgia State University.
