House Chamber Site of Historic Event

WHO: Erroll B. Davis Jr., Chancellor, Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia

WHAT: This ceremony marks the formal investiture of Davis as the 11th chancellor of the University System of Georgia. The event will feature remarks from Gov. Sonny Perdue, greetings from USG presidents, faculty and staff of the University System, the investiture, the presentation of a special medallion to the chancellor and the chancellor’s Inaugural Address.

WHEN: 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13

WHERE: The inauguration will take place in the House of Representatives Chamber at the Georgia State Capitol, a rare use of this historic facility. A reception will follow in the Capitol Rotunda at 3:30 p.m.

WHO: Regent Allan Vigil, chair of the Board of Regents, will preside over the inaugural ceremonies. In addition to members of the Board of Regents, attendees will include University System of Georgia presidents, faculty, students and staff, as well as representatives of other higher education institutions. The event is open to the public.
