Investiture of Chancellor Henry M. “Hank” Huckaby Scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9

Atlanta — November 7, 2011

WHO: Henry M. “Hank” Huckaby, chancellor of the University System of Georgia.

Regent Benjamin Tarbutton, chair of the Board of Regents, will preside over the inaugural ceremonies.

Gov. Nathan Deal will perform the investiture.

In addition to members of the Board of Regents, attendees will include University System of Georgia presidents, faculty, students and staff, as well as representatives of other higher education institutions. The event is open to the public.

WHAT: This ceremony marks the formal investiture of Huckaby as the 12th chancellor of the University System of Georgia. The event will feature remarks from Gov. Deal, greetings from USG presidents, faculty and staff of the University System, the investiture, the presentation of a special medallion to the chancellor and the chancellor’s Inaugural Address.

WHEN: Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

WHERE: The inauguration will take place in the House of Representatives Chamber at the Georgia State Capitol, a rare use of this historic facility. A reception will follow on the second floor of the State Capitol.
