Board of Regents to Consider Recommendation for AASU President at May 12 Board Meeting

WHY: A national search was launched in late fall 2008 to replace AASU President Thomas Z. Jones, who will retire June 30, 2009, after nine years in office. The AASU Special Regents’ Search Committee, chaired by Regent Wanda Yancey Rodwell, recently presented Chancellor Erroll B. Davis Jr. with the credentials of two finalists: Dr. Linda M. Bleicken, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, and Dr. William J. Lowe, provost and vice president, academic affairs, and professor of history at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minn. For more information on the finalists, please see the news release.
