Public Comment Sessions on Undocumented Students
The deadline for submitting comments was May 20, 2007.
University System officials have announced a series of four public comment sessions in Clarkston, Dalton, Gainesville and Tifton to solicit comment on a policy interpretation of the Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act that would make students who are unable to document that they are lawfully present in the United States ineligible for in-state tuition rates. On July 1, 2007, the University System intends to have the appropriate policies in place to implement the Act.
Participants in the sessions will be allotted three minutes for oral comments and may submit additional written comments or reports (see instructions below). All sessions will be videotaped.
Please see the schedule on this page for times and locations of these comment sessions.
Individuals interested in speaking at any of the four sessions must sign up for a designated three-minute slot on each program. To register, contact: 1-800-903-0929. Individuals also can use the form below to submit written comments on this issue.
