Michael Foxman - Executive Director of Internal Audit

Michael Foxman has over 25 years of experience serving in various audit and accounting roles for educational institutions, healthcare, banking and non-profit organizations. He has worked with the University System of Georgia Board of Regents for nine years, currently serving as Executive Director of Internal Audit. Michael received his BA in Accounting from Miami University (Ohio) and MBA from Youngstown State University. He holds Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designations.

Elizabeth McKinney - PINES Program Director Georgia Public Library Service

Elizabeth is the PINES Program Director at the Georgia Public Library Service. PINES is Georgia’s statewide public library card program. The PINES staff developed the Evergreen Open Source Integrated Library System, now in use by more than 1,000 libraries around the world.

Prior to joining the GPLS staff in 2001, she served as a clinical librarian in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Cardiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center Library, clinical librarian for a private medical practice in Colombia South America and Interlibrary Loan Manager at the University of Louisville’s Kornhauser Health Sciences Library.

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish from the University of Louisville and a MLIS degree from Syracuse University.

Sharon Logan - Director, Project Management

Sharon Logan has lived in the Athens area for the better part of the past three decades. She earned bachelors and master’s degrees in English literature from the University of Georgia and has worked over the years as a teacher and a business analyst. Now in her second decade with the University System of Georgia (USG), Sharon is the Director of the Information Technology Services Project Management Office.

Sharon is honored and excited to participate in the inaugural cohort of the Leading for Success-Advanced program. She looks forward to growing as a leader and to continuing to serve the USG with enthusiasm and creativity.

Sherea Frazer - Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Fiscal Affairs

Since joining the USG in 1995, Sherea Frazer has enjoyed serving in a variety of operational roles in support of the mission and goals of the University System, including fiscal affairs management, public policy development, human resources, payroll and benefits, and real estate facilities administration. Sherea presently serves as Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Fiscal Affairs at the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. She is responsible for promoting the mission and goals of the Office of Fiscal Affairs and the broader organizational goals of the University System of Georgia. She supports the Vice Chancellor for Fiscal Affairs in all financial and business policy, planning and management aspects for the University System. She also is involved in a broad range of long-term and short-term initiatives, as well as special projects.

Sherea is excited to be selected for the USO Leading for Success program and enjoys contributing to the program team as she continues to develop as a leader.

Sherea is a native of Atlanta and holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Spelman College. She is married with two sons.

Sarah Wenham - Director of Student Access Student Affairs

Sarah Wenham is currently the Director of Student Access in the Office of Student Affairs at the System Office. Prior to joining the System Office in 2007, Sarah served in various positions in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Georgia State University. Her positions with Georgia State included Admission Counselor, Information Systems Specialist and finally, Assistant Director over admission processing. Sarah received her undergraduate degree from Emory University and her MS degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia State.

Sarah is honored and excited to be a part of the USG’s inaugural co-hort of Leading for Success-Advanced. She is eagerly anticipating using the knowledge and skills acquired through the program to benefit the System Office, the USG colleges and universities and, most importantly, the students.

John Millsaps - Associate Vice Chancellor of Media and Publications

John Millsaps is the chief spokesperson for the University System and the Board of Regents, managing communications, public relations and messaging for an organization with a $6.5 billion annual budget to support some 42,000 employees and 315,000 students on 31 campuses.

In his role as associate vice chancellor for media and publications, John works closely with the chancellor and the chancellor’s senior staff, the 19 members of the Board of Regents, with college and university presidents and colleagues across the system.

A native of Mississippi, John attended college at the University of Missouri in Columbia, enduring four falls of elation and heartbreak following Mizzou Tiger football. After earning a minor in political science and a major in journalism, he went to work in public relations for the Six Flags Corporation, first in St. Louis and later Atlanta. In between he served a stint as the media relations head for the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, proving it is possible to step from being a spokesman for the carnival barker on the midway to the maestro on the podium.

He also worked in communications for Cotton States Insurance, where he ran the corporation’s intercollegiate basketball tournament and learned the strange ways of actuaries and their fondness for statistics.

Prior to joining the Board of Regents, John headed communications for the now defunct Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association and then the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Lee Nelson - Director of Real Estate Services

Lee Nelson is Director of Real Estate Services at the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, where he works with the 31 schools of the System to coordinate and execute real estate issues and transactions.

Mr. Nelson came to the Board from Colonial Properties Trust, a publicly traded REIT, where he was Senior Vice President of Asset Management and Strategic Planning. He has also worked with private equity investors in numerous roles. He has been involved with over $1 billion worth of commercial investment properties, responsible at various times for acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, and operations.

Mr. Nelson received a degree in economics from Yale University in New Haven CT. He is active in industry groups, including the Association of University Real Estate Officials, the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, and as past President of the Real Estate Group of Atlanta.
