Harrington Award for Inter-Institutional Collaboration in International Education
The USG Office of International Education has established the C. Tracy Harrington Award for Inter-Institutional Collaboration in International Education. This award is made annually and seeks to recognize and reward the outstanding work of an individual, program, partnership, consortium, or institution which has significantly contributed to collaboration in international education within the USG. The nominee whose work is judged to have the most impact on collaborative endeavors within the System will be included among those names inscribed on the Harrington plaque.
Goals
This award intends to:
- Recognize outstanding collaborative endeavors in internationalization between two or more USG institutions, reflecting the desire to capitalize on synergies within the USG
- Encourage innovative ideas and creative approaches to the efforts of internationalization throughout the USG
- Strengthen collaborative initiatives and promote cooperation among USG institutions
- Expand efforts toward creating a more globally educated Georgia
- Combine intellectual resources available within the System to enhance programs of study and achieve academic excellence in international education
Eligibility and Nomination Procedure
The nominated individual, program, partnership, consortium or institution must be a member of the USG and must demonstrate significant contributions to collaborative activities between two or more USG institutions in international education within the USG.
Applications should consist of a concise (1-2 page) submission letter highlighting the nominee's significant contributions to collaborative efforts in international education within the USG and any notable changes those contributions have made toward internationalization at the institutional or System level. Any measurable or quantifiable achievements should be highlighted. Self-nominations are encouraged.
Application deadline for the next competition is May 1, 2009.
