ISOM 2013

Time to Reimagine Your Information Security ePrivacy Practices

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 2013 Annual Information Security Officers Meeting (ISOM). It’s an exciting time for information security and eprivacy as we battle to navigate and adapt to the constantly changing landscape. This meeting is a place where innovation, ideas, and collaboration happen to better prepare our organizations for the inevitable changes happening in information security and privacy.

When change is upon us, we sometimes take the stance to fight to keep things the same. In information security and privacy, that isn’t an option. It’s time for us to “reimagine” our practices to make sure we are providing the best security and privacy protection available to our organizations.

Over the next three days, you will learn from fourteen experts who have come to Savannah, Georgia to present to you the changes happening and what that means for you in data privacy and security. You can look through your program guide to see topics that include cloud computing, eprivacy in higher education, progress and future goals, digital forensics, and so much more. To stay ahead of the curve, we must “reimagine” what we can do and all of the topics presented to you are crucial for that success. Following this meeting, don’t let the collaboration and “reimagining” stop. Use the ISO SharePoint portal to continue working to protect and secure your organization’s assets. Communication with each other is imperative to the growth and adaptability of information security and eprivacy.

Thank you for coming and enjoy your time in Savannah.

Sincerely,

Stanton S. Gatewood
Chief Information Security Officer
