About Us
The USG Office of Information Security (OIS) plays a critical role in ensuring the University System of Georgia's Information and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure is capable of delivering vital services in a secure, reliable, and trustworthy manner. The USG OIS is involved in a broad range of activities within University System and the state and collaborates with Federal, State, County, and local security professionals. USG OIS responsibilities include security strategic planning, IT/IS policy and compliance planning, IT/IS risk management, computer and data security incident management, continuity of operations planning, security awareness training and education, public outreach, and coordination with 35 USG institutions Information Security Officers (ISOs), Privacy Coordinators and DRP professionals across the system and state.
