Innovation Consulting Group
The Board of Regents has provided Principles to Guide Innovation to facilitate the development of a culture of innovation throughout the System and encourage innovations that are of high quality, student focused, and aligned with the System’s Strategic Plan. The Regents also encourage institutions to fuel innovation through the capture of operating efficiencies and the pursuit of student funding processes. By request of the Regents, the alumni of the Executive Leadership Institute will engage in identifying, designing, prototyping, and evaluating innovation projects that have been approved and may lead to potential System-wide implementation.
The goals and objectives of the groups are to:
- Create a culture of innovation and excellence throughout the University System,
- Develop a program that supports and actively strives to accomplish the System’s 7 Principles of Innovation,
- Continue to develop leadership skills of ELI alumni,
- Design a process that will solicit information from institutions about needs and challenges,
- Engage ELI alumni in applying innovative thinking and solutions for addressing institution needs and challenges, and
- Migrate selected innovations to the University System.
Two projects have been identified for the Alumni Innovation Consulting Groups:
- Create an early warning system for students at risk of attrition at Georgia State University, and
- Create System-wide performance metrics for data based decision-making at Georgia Institute of Technology.
The Innovation Consulting Groups will present their findings and recommendations to the Presidents at their June meeting.
