The Georgia Board of Nursing of the Secretary of State’s Office approves nursing degree programs at Georgia institutions. A part of the rules (410-3-.05) concerning nursing programs includes requirements for nursing faculty such as the requirement that:
- nursing faculty must hold at least a baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing;
- for any given academic term, the nursing program must have at least 75 percent of full-time and part-time faculty holding a graduate degree in nursing; and
- a full-time faculty member with only a baccalaureate degree in nursing must be in the process of earning a graduate degree in nursing.
