Albany
- MCG partnership with UGA and Albany State for pharmacy
- Iqbal Khan is named the new Dean for the Southwest Clinical Campus
- Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga., became the hub of MCG’s first satellite medical campus – the Southwest Georgia Clinical Campus – in 2005.
Athens
- Liaison Committee on Medical Education confirmation received
- Barbara Schuster is named Dean of the MCG/UGA partnership campus
- Memorandum of Understanding has been completed and signed by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, MCG and UGA to expand medical education into Athens.
- Local Redevelopment Authority agreement made which allows for land to be used for medical expansion using the Navy Supply Corps School Campus.
- Three area hospitals have completed the feasibility analysis and business plan study
- Historic Athens Factory overlooking North Oconee River being redeveloped for temporary campus until the Navy Supply Corps School Campus is available in 2011.

Augusta
- Dentistry School building new building; Common area to be shared with School of Medicine
- Gilbert Manor deeded to MCG by the city of Augusta
- SPLOST $10 million
- University Hospital to expand residency capacity
- MCG Health Inc. $1 million additional funds given by legislature
- Ongoing expansion of class size
- MCG’s research funds increased
- $6 million was appropriated to design a new School of Medicine building in Augusta during the 2008 Legislative session. That building, along with a new dental school, are planned for the Gilbert Manor property obtained from the City of Augusta and Augusta Housing Authority in 2008. The schools will share an education commons.
Savannah
- Kathryn Martin named Dean of Southeast Clinical Campus
- Saint Joseph’s/Candler possible teaching hospital
- The Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine’s Southeast Georgia Clinical Campus, based at St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System in Savannah, currently serves as a site for clinical rotations with more than 35 private physicians.
