Georgia Perimeter College, a regional nonresidential two and four-year multi-campus institution, strives to meet the changing expectations of our diverse collegiate and community constituencies by providing effective, innovative, lifelong educational opportunities. Placing learning first, Georgia Perimeter College provides accessible and affordable high quality undergraduate credit and noncredit programs for students seeking to complete an associate degree, transfer to a senior college or university, prepare for immediate entry into a career, pursue personal goals or enhance current workplace skills.
With more than 25,000 students, Georgia Perimeter College is the third-largest institution in the University System of Georgia. Georgia Perimeter College’s “On-Line” program is the largest in Georgia, with more than 8,000 students enrolled. International students account for 15 percent of the total student population and represent 147 countries.
The curriculum specializes in liberal arts and professional preparation. Award-winning faculty teach Georgia Perimeter College students in small classes. Thirty faculty members have received the National Teaching Excellence Award since 2001, and Georgia Perimeter College has the largest number of Governor’s Teaching Fellows (18) in Georgia since 2001.
Students may enroll in one of a wide variety of associate degree programs including business administration, computer information systems, nursing, dental hygiene, fire management, political science and teacher education. Also offered are a bachelor’s of arts in sign language interpreting and a bachelor’s of science in health informatics.
Every year since 2006, the institution has recorded its highest number of enrolled students in its history, and it has 44 Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAGs) with four-year institutions across the state. These agreements guarantee Georgia Perimeter College students seats at some of the best institutions in the state. Research shows 60 percent of Georgia Perimeter College’s students transfer to four-year colleges.
Georgia Perimeter College offers two bachelor degrees, 27 associate degrees, four career and technical degrees through its six locations in metro Atlanta and nine dual degree programs with DeKalb Tech GPC.
Georgia Perimeter College had an economic impact of more than $691 million during FY 2010.
