A Typical GALILEO Search

This section takes you through a typical GALILEO search — what the screens will look like and how a search takes shape. Be aware that databases available may vary in some locations. If you are unable to access the database listed in a sample search, try the search in another database.

Step 1

You Find a Database through the General and Multi Subject Category

You are researching bipolar disorder for a research paper. You've been told to use only scholarly sources.

You want to try to find some full-text articles — so you won't have to go into the library. You click on the "News/Facts and Reference" subject tab then click on "General and Multi Subject." In the database menu you see that there are full-text articles on most topics. Sounds to you like a good place to start. You click on "Academic Search Premier."
