GALILEO Help

Customizing GALILEO

GALILEO offers several options for libraries to customize the GALILEO interface for their users and provide access to GALILEO content in flexible ways.

GALILEO Menu Customization

Libraries can work with GALILEO to create a single place for their users to access all of their online library resources through the GALILEO Local Resource Integration (GLRI) toolkit.

Express Links

Express Links are URLs that point directly to individual databases or lists of databases within GALILEO, bypassing the GALILEO homepage.

Here are some of the many ways that you can use GALILEO Express Links:

Please see the following FAQ for more information on setting up and using GALILEO Express Links.

Persistent Links to Articles

Several GALILEO vendors offer the ability to create persistent links to GALILEO articles, including the EBSCO suite of databases, the ProQuest suite of databases, Chadwyk Healey’s LION, SIRS Researcher, and SIRS Discoverer.

The Digital Library of Georgia resources and the New Georgia Encyclopedia also offer direct linking capabilities to content in their digital collections related to the history and culture of Georgia.

Other vendors may also offer links that persist for shorter periods of time - 48 hours to 90 days.

Use of persistent links off-campus may require a campus proxy or setting a cookie via GALILEO. Instructions to set a cookie for EBSCO.
